Pelvic Health Physiotherapy
We have recently has added another modality to our treatments at Sooke Evergreen Physiotherapy. Pelvic Health Physiotherapy is a standardized treatment and refers to the assessment and treatment of the pelvic floor muscles. Pelvic health can be impacted by pregnancy, injuries, abdominal and pelvic surgeries, hip and low back conditions, muscle strain and posture. Rehabilitation of these muscles is useful for, and involved with urinary or anal/fecal incontinence, Pelvic organ prolapse, lumbopelvic pain, sexual function, painful intercourse, perinatal conditions, and stabilization of the pelvic region in men and women.
We provide individual treatment and exercise programs tailored exactly for your needs. Saying the same thing using more words, our medical model is client-centered, using an evidence-based and narrative approach to treat your whole self, not just the injury or condition.
The physiotherapists working at the clinic have additional training in manual therapy, and have also trained in the McKenzie method for back pain treatment and rehabilitation.
To help you get better quickly and prevent recurrence of your injury, we use active rehabilitation including personal exercise programs. We want to be sure that you get the most benefit from the exercises and activities. So, under the supervision of the therapists, our fitness trainer will help you work through the programs designed for your needs.
Weight equipment, free-hand dumbbells, elastic exercise band, therapy balls, balance boards, aerobic trainers, and more - all available for you to use during your treatment at the clinic.
